In the movie Crazy, Stupid, Love., actor Ryan Gosling wears a yet unidentfied wristwatch. It has a gold case, brown leather strap and a light coloured "California dial": the 10, 11 and 1 and 2 are Roman numerals while the others have Arabic numerals, and the number 12 is replaced by a triangle shape.

The use of this dial style dates back to the 1930s, for example in early Rolexes, Marina Militare and Kampfschwimmer diver's watches. A number of Rolex watches were refurbished by a company based in California using this style of dial, and resulting in the name "California dial".

The dial seems to have a subdial just above the 6 o'clock line.
