Longines is at the starting gate! The world-renowned Swiss watchmaker will be using its timing skills on the glistening mountain slopes, namely as the official timekeeper for the 2009-2010 Alpine Skiing World Cup competitions organised by the International Skiing Federation (FIS).
During this year’s World Cup, Longines presents the Longines Admiral model. A watch that stands for sports, performance and precision.
Throughout this season, all eyes will be on the Norwegian Aksel Lund Svindal, the previous winner of the Overall World Cup, the Super-G crystal globe as well as the gold medal in Super Combined at the World Championships in Val d’Isère. Longines would like to take this opportunity to wish its ambassador of elegance every success during the coming season.
Throughout the 2009-2010 season Longines presents the Admiral model from the Longines Sport Collection. It evokes the prestigious dimension of sports, in which aesthetic and precision predominate. The frequent travelers and the adventurers will especially appreciate the 24h (second time zone) watches.

Aksel Lund Svindal about his sponsor Longines: "I’m very proud of my cooperation with Longines. There aren’t many things in this world that are more reliable and professional than Swiss watch making. And in this industry Longines is one of the key players celebrating 175 years(since 1832) of watch making in 2008. They are the official timekeeper on the World-Cup. If you look at old photos from the Olympics in Oslo in 1952 and photos from this years World-Cup tour, you will see that there has been a lot of changes in alpine skiing and hardly anything looks the same, except for the Longines logo."
Aksel Lund Svindal's cool website www.aksellundsvindal.com is worth a visit. The video of him participating in a Michael Jackson "Beat It' tribute is very funny (watch video).
