Steve McQueen was an American movie actor nicknamed "The King of Cool." His "anti-hero" persona, which he developed at the height of the Vietnam counterculture, made him one of the top box-office draws of the 1960s and 1970s.

Steve McQueen wore a Tag Heuer Monaco wristwatch in the film Le Mans (read more below), but in real life he wore a Rolex Submariner model 5512 and an Explorer II, model 1655. The Explorer II has also been called the Steve McQueen Rolex and is very popular among collectors today.
